individual lessons

I offer in-person one on one lessons to students in brass instruments regardless of their skill level. I will come to you, thereby offering you the convenience and luxury of learning in a safe and comfortable environment. My student’s parents appreciate this a lot as they don’t have to worry about arranging transportation.

What to expect:

In our first meeting, we will do a skill level assessment and get an understanding of where you are in your music journey.

  • Lessons are tailored to each student’s unique ability and skill level
  • Student should have their own music instrument
  • Expert unbiased guidance on selection of an instrument if you have not purchased one already
  • Built-in music theory lessons for students who are starting from the very beginning or need a refresher
  • Students who live outside of my 30 minute drive radius will incur an additional travel cost

Cost of lessons:

  • $30/lesson – (1) half hour session
  • $20 /lesson – (1) half hour VIRTUAL sessions.
  • Payment at beginning of each lesson
  • Students who live outside of my 30 minute drive radius may see an extra $5 or $10 added to cost of lesson.

Refresher Lessons:

  • Students who have taken (12) sessions will benefit from (1) free refresher lesson. I offer this mainly to help students stay on track during long breaks.

Rescheduling Policy:

In the event you need to reschedule, please note:

  • Requires advance notice 24 hours prior to lesson date
  • Last minute rescheduling needs to be discussed with parent.

Small GROUp lessons

I also offer small group lessons, typically 2-10 students per group.

This is ideal for a family with more than one student interested in learning music or for a group of friends interested in creating a quartet or quintet. Forming a small band is a fun and exciting way to learn and grow in your music journey. I highly recommend this to students who have learned the basics and get read music.

I will come to your location, be that at your home or at your school where you’ve received permission to use that space, or I can arrange for a music studio at a convenient location to everyone.

What to expect:

Our first meeting will be a free session where I first get to know you and your group. We will do a skills assessment to under where you are and what you will need to work on as you move forward. We will also discuss what your end goals are… is this for fun and love of music, or do you wish to participate at music competitions or perform as a quartet or quintet at your school’s talent competition. Whatever your goal maybe, we’ll create a plan so you can achieve it together! 🙂

  • Students have a good foundation in music and are able to play their instrument
  • Students have their own instrument
  • Cost per student – $15 for each half hour, if within 30 minute drive radius, otherwise $1 per 1 mile will be added as a travel cost.
  • Number of sessions will be determined after our first meeting.

Refresher Lessons:

  • Students who have taken (6) or (12) sessions will benefit from (1) or (2) free refresher lessons. I offer this mainly to help students stay on track during long breaks.

Rescheduling Policy:

In the event you need to reschedule, please note:

  • (1) rescheduling for every (6) sessions
  • Requires advance notice 4 days prior to lesson date
  • Last minute rescheduling needs to be discussed with group.

Large group lessons

As a former school teacher, I understand the various reasons why some schools do not have an established music program. It is for these reasons why I offer private group lessons to schools who are trying their best to create a music or band program so that their students do not miss out on formal music education.

Please reach out to me and we can discuss your unique situation and create a series of lessons in general music, music theory, music performance or band.

I’ll be more than happy to work with your music staff to supplement the current music curriculum with new lesson plans or to enhance any existing curriculum.
